“As we expand, we’re making sure our operations can keep pace.”
Saracen Horse Feeds has made a multi-million-pound investment in technology at its mill in Aylesford, Kent.
The introduction of automated mill software was supported by around £3million funding from Lloyds.
Saracen says the upgrade has enabled it to increase supply for UK customers and boost its export growth across Europe and the Middle East.
Last year, the business received a King’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.
Saracen employs around 50 staff across its manufacturing, warehousing, UK sales and export teams.
Lloyds says it’s backed the company since 2017, helping it invest in working capital, manufacturing improvements and “the operational resilience needed to serve a growing customer base at home and abroad.”
Added Saracen’s managing director John Rawdon-Mogg: “As we expand further into Europe and the Middle East, we’re making sure our operations at Aylesford can keep pace, including investing in automation that’s already improving efficiency in the mill.”
Saracen Horse Feeds recently refreshed its brand with a new-look logo and packaging.
