Body moves to put the 21st century phenomenon into perspective for the trade.
Former prime minister Sir Tony Blair recently likened the arrival of artificial intelligence (AI) to the Industrial Revolution; such is its impact on business.

The British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) is responding to AI’s commercial risks and benefits with a series of cyber safety measures.
“We’re helping our member companies capitalise on the advent of AI by using it in a responsible, productive way,” says BETA’s Claire Williams.
BETA has already launched a members’ ‘cyber package’ in conjunction with Citation Cyber. And on 16 June at 7pm, the trade association and the cyber security experts are running a free webinar.
Speakers Nick Walmsley and Zain Javed will explain AI in plain English - and why it matters for customer data, operations and cyber security.
They’ll look at safe use of AI tools, how and why AI can go wrong and how businesses can create AI-safe house rules.
How to join the seminar
The webinar is free and for BETA members only.
It’s one of many benefits that firms enjoy when they join the trade association which welcomes equestrian enterprises of all sizes and types to apply for membership across various categories.
“A BETA subscription costs a surprisingly modest sum,” says Claire Williams. “In fact, many of our members tell us they recoup the cost by using the members-only privileges on offer.”
Perks of BETA membership include free access to the National Equestrian Survey, savings on stand space at BETA International, and reduced costs for BETA training courses and conference tickets.
There are also savings to be made on accreditations such as BETA NOPS.
Retail members benefit from hat amnesty refunds and show sponsorship vouchers, each worth £100.
