More than a thousand sign new petition in first few days.
Campaigners have vowed to keep fighting to preserve Walsall Leather Museum.
Walsall Council plans to move the museum from the 1888 leather factory building on Littleton Street West to an unnamed town centre location.

But supporters fear the institution that “hosts the heart of our town’s heritage” may close.
Now a new petition to save the museum has been launched, with more than 1,000 people signing it within days.
For 37 years, the Walsall Leather Museum has curated and displayed hundreds of artefacts, and provided an education hub.
“The campaign to save the museum is very much not over,” Georgie Brown, who is self-employed in the saddlery trade in Walsall, told ETN.
“The preservation of the museum is, in our opinion, the cornerstone to preserving the saddlery and leather industry in Walsall, and we are not going to lose it without a fight.”
The campaign has generated local press coverage as well as in the likes of The Guardian and museum trade media. There’s a Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1543322236856229
“I encourage anyone who is interested to join our Facebook group,” added Georgie. “Here we will be posting the latest news from the team and also details of any meetings/events going forward.”
Heritage associations, educational organisations, local and international businesses, MPs, and local celebrities have expressed support, she added.
