But production continues at the company’s manufacturing site.
A fire has destroyed buildings and stock at Nottinghamshire based manufacturer Parallax Equestrian and Plastics.
Ten fire engines were at the scene in Gunthorpe on Thursday (12 March) to tackle the blaze. Everyone at the scene was accounted for.
Local people were advised to avoid the area and keep windows shut as “the smoke plume is travelling fast due to high winds,” said Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.
The cause of the fire is as yet unknown, Phil Warrior of Parallex told ETN.
Parallax makes moulded plastic products for horses, including its own brand Slow Feeder and Haysaver. Another popular product line is its snow sledges.
“We’re heartbroken to share that we have suffered a devastating warehouse fire. Tragically, the fire has destroyed our buildings and all of our stock,” said the company on social media.
“As a small business, this is an incredibly difficult moment for us. Our immediate focus is assessing the damage and working out the best way forward.
“Fortunately, all of our manufacturing takes place at a separate off-site facility, which was completely unaffected by the fire. Production is continuing as normal, and we are able to replace almost all of our product range, so it is very much business as usual for us”
Parallax Equestrian and Plastics is a member of the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) and the non-profit organisation Made In Britain.
