First Thought Equine (FTE) has credited its “unique approach to saddle design” for being named Equestrian Equipment Retailer of the Year at the 2025 London & South East England Prestige Awards.
Kent based FTE is the company behind WOW and Duskin saddles.
Fashion and celebrity magazine Prestige uses its annual awards to champion independent businesses and SMEs.
“Although small businesses may not be able to compete with multinational companies on their size and scale, there is a personalised, service-driven focus that is often void from large organisations,” says Osmaan Mahmood, Prestige CEO.
FTE was founded in 1996 by David Kempsall and Maggie White.
“We stood out to the judges thanks to our unique approach to saddle design and innovation, our commitment to rider and horse welfare, and our dedication to ethical equine practices,” they said.
“This award is a recognition of the hard work of our entire team, our network of fitters and retailers around the world, and the riders and horses who continue to inspire us.”
Companies nominated for Prestige awards are asked to provide positive customer feedback and other supporting credentials. Winners are featured in a celebratory edition of the magazine.
