Ten qualify to join established network.
Ten people have just gained the Society of Master Saddlers Saddle Fitting Qualification.
They are Natalie Hare of Hampshire based TDS Saddlers, Liz Mills from Norfolk, Lauren Kearns from Perthshire, Amanda Riley from Southampton, Samantha Lander who is based in Somerset, Rebecca Cousse from Belgium, Sara Morrison of Cornwall based Pro Saddles, Hannah Dillon from Ireland, Kent based Amy Jolley and Anastasia Koudinova from Sussex.
All ten completed their final assessment last month at Moulton College in Northamptonshire, following training to develop technical knowledge and practical skills.
“Throughout the assessment process, candidates must demonstrate their ability to assess horses, evaluate saddle fit accurately, and provide informed, professional advice to support both horse and rider,” said a spokesperson for the Society of Master Saddlers.
“As awareness continues to grow around the effects of poor saddle fit, the role of the qualified saddle fitter has become increasingly important.
“[Our] saddle fitters are trained to deliver a welfare-led approach, helping riders ensure their equipment supports the long-term well-being and performance of their horses.”
The newly-qualified fitters join an established network of Society of Master Saddlers professionals working across the UK and internationally.
