Authenticity wins the day.

No wonder everyone admires Badminton winner Ros Canter.

She’s the consummate horsewoman and comes across as a lovely human being, complete with heart-on-the-sleeve emotions, writes ETN editor Liz Benwell.

Her sponsorship arrangement with Equipe is equally authentic.

It continues a decade after Ros originally - and privately - chose to ride on the saddles.

“Ros bought her first saddles via one of our retailers,” says Simon Middleton from Equipe’s UK distributor Zebra Products.

“Then she won the world championships in them, so we cemented the relationship with a sponsorship deal.”

Nowadays Ros’s saddles are fitted by Sally Bacon, Zebra Products’ saddle sales manager and a Society of Master Saddlers (SMS) qualified saddle fitter.

“Ros uses the Special One for jumping, which is ideal for someone as slight as her, and the Olympia for dressage,” said Simon.

“She’s is an absolute legend. We love working with Ros.”

After Badminton, many talked of Ros’s ride Lordships Gruffalo being the ultimate event horse. Her commercial partnership with Equipe is likewise ‘the real deal.’
