The eminent American equine nutritionist Dr Joe Pagan will present his latest research during a visit to the UK next month.

On a visit to the UK, Dr Jo Pagan will present his latest research at a free-to-attend seminar. 

The founder of Kentucky Equine Research (KER) will be joined by top vets and nutritionists, international groom Alan Davies and British Equestrian’s eventing performance manager Richard Waygood for a seminar. 

The Equine Health & Nutrition Seminar: Applying the Science for Sports Horses is presented by Saracen Horse Feeds and KER. The free-to-attend event at Newbury Racecourse, Berkshire, is open to all.

As well as reviewing the latest research, the day will focus on practical feeding to support performance horses. 

Dr Pagan will present his latest research over two talks. Other speakers are Lizzie Drury, senior registered nutritionist at Saracen Horse Feeds, plus vets Ollie Crow, a specialist surgeon, and equine internal medicine expert Richard Hepburn. 

Talks will cover strategies to help horses cool and rehydrate in hot conditions, why joint disease happens and treatments, equine gastric ulcer syndrome management, the roles of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, and feeding through the competition season.
