Equestrians urged to vote in “a celebration of everything that’s good in the industry.”
The British Equestrian Trade Association’s 2025 Trade Awards, the BETAs, are open for nominations.
Members of the trade and consumers are urged to highlight the people and companies they think deserve to be named the best in the business.
The BETAs are made up of 11 awards with five needing nominations from customers before judging commences. The winners will be announced at BETA’s annual gala dinner on Sunday 28 September at the Hilton Metropole, NEC, Birmingham.
Awards needing nominations are:
Safety Equipment Fitter of the Year, sponsored by BETA. This award recognises the work undertaken by hat and body protector fitters based in equestrian shops. Nominees should demonstrate a high level of understanding and go the extra mile when it comes to their customers. Nominations close on 30th June 2025.
Zebra Products Retailer of the Year - online. Customers can nominate online tack shops who they think do a great job. After being nominated, retailers will receive a questionnaire to be completed before they’re considered for the next stage of judging. Nominations close on 23rd June 2025.
Absorbine Retailer of the Year- store. Customers can nominate a shop or store that they think should be celebrated. As with the online version, nominees will be sent a questionnaire before they can be considered for the next stage of judging. Nominations close on 23rd June 2025.
Nutritional Helpline of the Year. This award celebrates those companies that support customers with outstanding nutritional advice, to help them understand their horses’ needs and feed requirements. Nominations close on 23rd June 2025.
Equine Fitters Council Equine Fitter Award. This award recognises the work of saddle, bridle and bit fitters all over the UK. Nominations can be made for those who work independently or employed by a particular company, and should be made by those who have used their services in the last year. Nominations close on 16th June 2025.

“The BETAs are a true celebration of everything that’s good in the equestrian industry,” said Claire Williams of BETA.
“Each year, we see recognition for those companies and individuals who go above and beyond, and customers who want to see their nominee celebrated for what they do.
“These five categories sit next to our trade specific awards and are the ones we accept nominations for from customers. It’s a great chance to shout about the person who’s made a difference to you and your horse, to celebrate excellence in the industry.”
In addition, the BETAs will crown the winners of the Equine Careers Sales Representative of the Year, Retail Employee of the Year, Holdsworth PR Marketing Effectiveness Award, BETA Lifetime Achievement Award, Citation Trade Supplier of the Year, and GBH Forwarding Export Award.
