Spillers is asking owners of horses and ponies aged 15 years and over to help with a new survey.

The results will help it learn more about the specific nutritional needs of senior equines, says the feed brand.

Every survey participant has the chance to win a £50 feed voucher.

Around 40% of horses and ponies in the UK may be in the 15+ age category, Spillers’ data suggests.

“With more and more horse owners now caring for seniors, we are on a mission to gather more in-depth information about management practices,” said Sarah Nelson, product manager at Mars Horsecare, home of the Spillers brand.

“The [survey] results will help us identify how we can provide the best support for senior horses nutritionally, to help keep them in optimum health throughout the ageing process.”

Horse owners can click here to complete the survey.

Participants who would like access to the survey results – and entry into a prize draw to win a £50 Spillers feed voucher - should add their email address at the end of the survey.
