I’Anson was praised by the awards’ judges for creating local jobs, increasing exports, expanding product lines, investing in its future and achieving record turnover.

The firm’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic was commended.

Founded in Masham in 1900, I’Anson Brothers produces animal feeds for customers regionally, nationally and internationally. Its specialist horse feed products are exported to around 40 countries worldwide.

The family owned and managed business was founded by the great grandfather of the present directors, with the fifth generation of the I’Anson family now joining.

Last month, I’Anson started building a £20m feed mill at Dalton New Bridge.

Said Chris I’Anson, managing director: “We’re extremely proud of our Yorkshire roots, having been based in Masham for the entirety of our 120-year history.

“In this time, the company has grown from a one-man business to an international concern exporting to 40 countries and providing 90 jobs for local people.”
