Autumnal advice on the menu.

Top riders and equine nutritionists are among the experts dishing up free advice to horse owners during BETA’s Feed Fact Fortnight.

Running until 5 November, the campaign aims to dispel common feeding myths and explains why feed should be bought from trusted suppliers.

Manufacturer and retail members of the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) are getting involved across social media. Activities include live video presentations packed with tips and advice.

BETA’s current autumn Feed Fact Fortnight has the theme of ‘Winter words of wisdom’. Seasonal equine weight control, trusting your feed brand, buying from BETA members and looking for brands accredited to the NOPS and EGUS schemes are all on the menu.

BETA Feed Fact Fortnight aims to help consumers access sound nutritional advice,” said the trade association’s Claire Williams.

“By focusing on good feeding practice and separating fact from fiction, we can help horse owners make more informed choices when it comes to buying feed and supplements.”

Many of the country's leading equine nutritionists and competition riders have given the fortnight their full backing.

BETA member retailers across the UK are promoting their participation with BETA Feed Fact Fortnight bunting both in-store and online.

“The campaign is seeing lots of great awareness-raising events throughout the fortnight,” added Claire.

“Retailers are running competitions, creating informative displays and staging a wide range of special feed-focused events.”
