Partnership scores a win in their first eventing season.
Congratulations to Helen Reader and Zennith who won the Open 80cm class at the NAF 5 Star British Riding Clubs Horse Trials Championships earlier this month.
Helen, who runs Carmarthen based HR Saddlery, only started eventing the 15 year old, grey 17hh Dutch warmblood this season. They’d previously concentrated on dressage.
“I started show jumping at home just to give him some fun and a break from schooling,” said Helen. “We went [cross country] schooling for the first time this Spring. He loved it and has gone from strength to strength over the summer.”
At the championships, Helen and Zennith led after dressage and show jumping. A clear cross country round for a single time fault clinched the victory.
“He exceeded all my expectations,” said Helen, a Master Saddler well known for her bespoke bridles and saddle fitting service.
