Group being formed to enable smaller companies to benefit from the Government support scheme.

An application for funding under the Government’s new Kickstart job creation scheme for young workers is being co-ordinated by BETA (the British Equestrian Trade Association).

If companies get together to offer a total of at least 30 job placements, the financial support package can be accessed directly.

Kickstart funding is available for six months, and for new jobs.

The Government pays 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week, plus associated employer National Insurance and pension contributions.

There is also £1,500 per job placement available for setup costs, support and training.

“This is a good opportunity to recruit some bright new sparks across all sectors of the equestrian industry,” said Claire Williams, BETA executive director.

“We have the nucleus of a group and welcome more applications from interested employers as soon as possible, so that we can all benefit.”
